Via Belvedere, 2, 08042 Bari Sardo NU, Italy

Synonymous with sublime beaches and sparkling emerald seas, Sardinia is a crown jewel of the Mediterranean, often lauded as Europe's answer to the Caribbean or Indian Ocean. Marked by its warm lagoons, white sands and wide secluded bays, Italy’s sleepiest island is a traveller’s paradise, and its enchanting east coast offers otherworldly tranquillity tucked away from cosmopolitan hotspots like Porto Cervo to the north of the island.

While away your days on sugar-white sands and glacier-blue waters, or head inland to explore the island’s rugged mountainous landscape with scenic hikes, bike rides and horse treks. Whatever you choose, be sure to sample some of the island's beloved culinary offerings, from crisp carasau bread to stuffed culurgiones and indulgent seasadas, a sweet cheese pastry topped with a generous dollop of honey.
