A snug stay on Liverpool’s Albert Dock, surrounded by museums and galleries with a view of the River Mersey - includes breakfast, and a bottle of prosecco
  • Location, location: Dockside digs don’t get much better than this, with all the sights of vibrant Liverpool in easy walking distance. England has plenty of interesting cities, and Liverpool tops the lists, with plenty of culture and history as well as a distinctly creative side - there’s truly something for everyone. You’re surrounded by restaurants, too, so when hunger strikes you’ll never be far from some good eating.

  • Stylish decor: A warm atmosphere permeates throughout, from the lobby to the bar and plenty of little cosy nooks for relaxing after days out in the city. Superior rooms are on the plusher side, with calming colour schemes and nods to the city outside in well-chosen artworks.

  • Coffee and more: Those who struggle to get going in the morning without a coffee hit will be glad of the in-house illy Coffee bar, and The Bar & Grill is on hand for everything else, whether you’re looking for a cheeky cocktail or a feast. Towering burgers will have you feeling well and truly stuffed, and you can finish off your meal with a sticky toffee pudding.

How to get there

Liverpool Central station is a 15-minute walk away, while Liverpool Lime Street is 20 minutes away on foot. The train will take roughly two and a half hours from London Euston and two hours from Birmingham New Street. If you’re driving, the city is easily accessible via the M6.

31 Keel Wharf, Liverpool L3 4FN

Albert Dock overlooks the River Mersey and is home to the city’s most interesting museums and galleries, from the Liverpool Museum and International Slavery Museum to the Tate Liverpool and the British Music Experience, which chronicles the history of British music through a series of hands-on exhibits and artefacts. You’re also just a short walk from the Beatles Statue, and fans of the iconic band will want to head into the city centre to visit the Cavern Club, where they got their big break.

Elsewhere, vintage shops abound for bargain-hunters, and you’ll find plenty of comedy clubs and bars to keep you entertained come dark. The bars and clubs at Concert Square are a particular nightlife highlight, and will have you dancing all night long. To the north of the city, Crosby Beach’s golden sands make a good respite from the bustle, and there are more beaches to visit across the Mersey in West Kirby.
