Property details

A gourmet all-suite hotel in Italy’s captivating South Tyrol, with an acclaimed restaurant and wine tasting cellar - includes breakfast, a welcome drink, and more
  • Rustic-chic suites: After a delicious supper at La Filanda Relax & Gourmet’s impossibly good restaurant, you won’t have far to stagger for a good night’s sleep. There are just four elegant and generously sized suites, each designed in a unique style - perhaps a suspended bed hoisted from a vaulted ceiling, or your own sauna.

  • Memorable dining experience: The building has been extensively renovated from an 1800s spinning mill, with contemporary touches added to the exposed beams and stone walls. Feel the history in the intimate restaurant as you dine on traditional Trentino recipes, with locally sourced produce like river fish, game and fresh vegetables.

  • Mountain idylls: Select a bottle to go with your meal from the hotel’s tasting cellar, or for something more casual, take a coffee or ice cream on the terrace while taking in the lofty views. The Italian Lakes, Dolomiti ski resorts and German-accented towns are just a stone’s throw away.

How to get there

The nearest airport is in Verona, about 122 kilometres from La Filanda. Hop on the A22 autostrada and zoom north to the much-frescoed city of Trento - the hotel is around 30 kilometres further north in the semi-autonomous region of South Tyrol, where alpine and Mediterranean traditions collide. A car is ideal for exploring - you’ll need it for zipping up and down mountain passes and visiting the vineyards around the hotel.

Via SS. Gervasio e Protasio, 5 38010 Trento, Italy

Uncrowded and scattered with alpine lakes, charming towns and jagged peaks, South Tyrol is northern Italy at its most breathtaking. Outside of the winter skiing season, the mountains vibrate with the sound of hiking boots marching up and down the sun-kissed trails that lace the valleys and summits. With a number of high mountain passes within striking distance, the area is popular with cyclists too.

And after an active day on two wheels or two feet, reward yourself with delicious northern Italian cuisine, rich with locally sourced produce such as freshwater fish, juicy tomatoes and cheese from the cows that graze on the mountain pastures.
