Property details

A cool and contemporary boutique stay in Paris’ fashionable and elegant 9th arrondissement - includes breakfast and a welcome drink
  • Sensual setting: Once a den of iniquity where cabaret bars and can-can girls promised a good time, Pigalle has had a facelift and is now one of Paris’ top places to stay. The hotel is located in a great spot for exploring on foot or hopping on the metro, and there are more restaurants, bars and coffee shops in the local area than you can shake a croissant at. The hotel also has its own achingly hip bar for when you need a nightcap.

  • Art Deco style: The owner-run hotel is named after its owners, Charlotte and Marc, who have created a super-stylish space in which to unwind. The hotel occupies a corner spot in an elegant, quintessentially Parisian building, with the interiors thoughtfully and sympathetically curated with Art Deco-style furniture, parquet flooring, curved details and fluted glass.

  • The perfect Paris bolthole: Hotel Chamar’s team has thought of everything to make your stay as restful as possible. Rooms are well appointed with amenities like hairdryers, Nespresso machines for your morning coffee and minibars for a midnight digestif. You can curl up with a book in an antique armchair or on the super-comfy beds, or enjoy a refreshing soak under the rainfall shower before a night on the town.

How to get there

Hotel Chamar is in the 9th arrondissement, known as Opéra. It can be found on the Right Bank around five minutes’ walk from the nearest Metro station, Pigalle, which provides an easy route to the Gare du Nord and the Eurostar Terminal. Charles de Gaulle Airport is about 45 minutes away by public transport, or you can take a taxi which takes around an hour.

35 Rue la Bruyère, 75009 Paris, France

The 9th arrondissement brims with history, restaurants, cafes and culture - it’s home to the Opéra Garnier, famous cabaret venues the Moulin Rouge and Folies Bergere, a clutch of popular museums and two of the city’s biggest and most famous department stores: Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussmann. In the last decade the area has had a revamp and its elegant, grand boulevards are thronging with places to see and restaurants to try.

SoPi (South Pigalle) is easy to get around on foot - you can wander up and down rue des Martyrs, nipping into Boulangerie Mamiche for a brioche and Sebastian Gaudard for a tarte au citron; head to Boulevard Haussmann (look up and admire the architecture!) and check out the Palais Garnier, before heading to the ‘grands magasins’ for a spot of shopping. If it’s raining, duck into the covered passageways for a stroll down to the Palais Royal, checking out the tiled floors, ornate glass ceilings and hidden character features. For big-hitting sights, the metro is your best friend for exploring further afield.
