Via Mayenburg 32, I-39011 Völlan (near Merano), South Tyrol, Italy

You’ll be staying outskirts of Völlan, just 20 minutes from Merano - the South Tyrol spa town that became a go-to spot for European royalty, nobility, and aristocracy following Empress Elisabeth of Austria’s visit in the 1870’s. Here you can work your way around the spas and Art Nouveau buildings, marvel at the Gothic cathedral, and stop by at the Museum of Tourism (known as Touriseum) that’s the first museum in the Alpine region dedicated exclusively to the history of tourism.

Further must-dos including exploring the forests and vineyards in the idyllic countryside, playing a few rounds at Lana Golf Club (a 10-minute drive away), and visiting the nearby city of Bolzano for its fabulous churches, Belle Epoque buildings, and prehistoric Ice Man.
