Enchanting North Yorkshire country retreat

Middleton Lodge, Richmond

Property details

Escape to a beautiful Georgian country manor in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside – includes breakfast, a glass of champagne and a shepherd's hut option
  • Full of character: The glorious Middleton Lodge estate is the ultimate way to sample elevated rural living in stunning North Yorkshire. Gorgeous Georgian buildings combine exquisite original features and an air of gentility with a calming contemporary touch, while elsewhere on the estate you'll find a charming Coach House and Farmhouse, both of which are ultra-cosy spaces with delightful period features.

  • Down time: Explore the splendid estate with its 200 acres of privately-owned parkland, perfect for leisurely ambles. For those looking to unwind and indulge, treat yourself to a day in the Forest Spa, where you'll find an extensive menu of holistic and natural massages, facials and treatments. There's also a spring-water hot tub, sauna and plunge pool, while in winter there's nothing like curling up by the fire in the snug.

  • Home-grown eats: With its reclaimed timber, antique brass light fittings, leather banquettes and old school benches, The Coach House Restaurant is proud of its estate-to-plate ethos, where maximum use is made of local and home-grown produce from the kitchen garden and the estate's woodland, paired with a handpicked wine list to round out the perfect meal. For real ales, carefully-crafted cocktails and hand-picked wines, tuck yourself away in the cosy bar, or opt for a fine-dining experience at Forge, the more formal of the hotel's two restaurants.

How to get there

Middleton Lodge is just five miles from Richmond and under nine miles from Darlington train station, which has direct rail links to London.
