Location and what's nearby

ATLANTIC Grand Hotel Travemünde, Kaiserallee 2, 23570 Lübeck, Germany

Travemünde is one of Germany’s best-loved seaside resorts, famous for its architecturally impressive beach promenades and for being at the mouth of the Trave. Not just home to Germany’s oldest lighthouse, dating back to 1330, Travemünde is also the location of the second largest sailing event in the world; every July, Travemünde Week attracts 3,000 sailors and 800 boats, who take to the Baltic Sea for the historic regatta.

However, if you haven’t quite found your sea legs, then the Brodtener Steilufer, a four-kilometre stretch of cliffs popular with hikers and bikers, is for you. And for any budding golfers, the Brodtener Steilufer is also where you'll find the Lübeck-Travemünde Golf Club, a championship course high above the Baltic Sea. Slightly further north is a 36-hole course, the Timmendorfer Strand Golf Club. Travemünde also has some great boutiques, cafés, and retail shops for calmer afternoons.
