Kos is a beautiful Greek island - one of the largest in the Dodecanese chain - boasting some immaculate beaches and warm Aegean waters. The Mitsis Norida Beach Hotel is just five kilometres from the resort town of Kardamena - a vibrant place with plenty of bars and restaurants and some excellent nightlife. It's well worth making the 30 kilometre journey into Kos Town - the island's capital - which boasts a beautiful fishing boat-thronged harbour and lovely, traditional whitewashed buildings.

Kos has a long and intriguing history and you'll find Roman ruins, Venetian palaces and Ottoman mosques as well as its stunning crusader castle to keep you entertained. There are a number of smaller islands near to Kos that make ideal day trips, including Nisyros, where you can walk in a volcanic crater.
