Location and what's nearby

North St, Langham, Holt NR25 7DH

A region of sprawling sandy beaches, rugged countryside and charming coastal towns, North Norfolk is the low-key answer to staycation stalwarts like Cornwall and the English Riviera. Nevertheless, its wildly beautiful landscapes have been captivating in-the-know travellers since way back when, as its smattering of stately homes, award-winning eateries and high-end boutiques also testifies. So whether you’ve come to escape it all or seek out the finer things in life, this secluded stretch of coastline has something for you.

Start with a long beach walk down the sandy stretch between Brancaster and Wells-next-the-beach, or take a scenic drive to the beloved and film-featured Holkham Beach. After that, perhaps venture to nearby Holkham Hall to stroll through lush parklands and admire the grand 18th-century seat of the Earls of Leicester. And if you’re looking to reconnect with nature, you’ll be just five minutes’ drive from the breathtaking Blakeney National Nature Reserve, with its wealth of birdwatching, seal- and wildlife-spotting opportunities.
