A classically styled Kensington stay in a former Earl’s mansion, close to London’s exciting museums and Hyde Park – includes breakfast and a Cornish cream tea
  • Glamorous location: With a fabulous location in London's glitzy Kensington, you’d be hard pressed to find such a central spot as Gem Strathmore Hotel from which to explore the city. Do some learning at the world-class museums nearby, take a short wander to Hyde Park or hop on the tube and experience the rest of the city.

  • Graceful restoration: This elegant property has been fully restored since its time as a Victorian mansion, once home to the Earl of Strathmore - the late Queen Mother’s father. The beautiful chandeliered restaurant serves European and international dishes in its grandiose setting, and there’s also a bar for post-sightseeing drinks.

  • Decadent dining: Rooms come with splashes of the same glamour, with plush fabrics and heavy drapes. To continue the classic British decadence, settle down in the Lounge bar for an afternoon tea of freshly prepared cakes and pastries – or perhaps a refreshing pre-theatre cocktail.

How to get there

Roughly 10 minutes south of Hyde Park you’ll find Gem Strathmore Hotel, nestled on a quiet street next to the Queen’s Gate Gardens. The nearest tube station, Gloucester Road, is less than five minutes away on foot and provides easy links to the rest of the city. London Paddington is 15 minutes away on the Circle Line, while Kings Cross and Waterloo stations are approximately half an hour away on the tube.
