A short 44-minute train south of London will take you to Tunbridge Wells: a picturesque town nestled in Kent’s countryside. A historic spa town, this quintessentially-British location is the perfect spot to switch off and unwind. You’ll be just a 15-minute walk away from The Pantiles, where you’ll find an enticing concoction of beautiful architecture, browse-worthy shops, fascinating art galleries and fabulous cafés. Of course, if you fancy a cosmopolitan day trip, London isn’t far away. If you’re more interested in exploring the local countryside, turn your sights to Ashdown Forest - the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood - only a 25-minute drive away. Or, for a spot of regal grandeur, visit Scotney Castle - a 20-minute drive away. If complete relaxation is on your agenda, set up shop in a cosy establishment, such as The Bedford or The Allotment, and let card games, fresh pints, warm pies, and people-watching blissfully occupy your time.
