The Manor Coastal Hotel and Inn, The Quay, Blakeney NR25 7ND

This rural bolthole is nestled in the village of Blakeney, an ideal base from which to explore the dramatic Norfolk coastline. You’re situated in an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, with nature reserves on every side, so get ready for long, scenic walks and wildlife spotting. Pebbly Cley Beach is less than a ten-minute drive away, and a popular starting point for the walk to Blakeney Point, home to England's largest grey seal colony; catch a glimpse during the winter breeding season, or hop on a boat trip from Morston Quay to see them in summer.

For local village charm, stroll around Blakeney with an ice cream or a bacon butty in hand, passing flintstone cottages, gift shops and art galleries. Pitch up on the quay for a spot of crabbing, or head into a cosy pub for a drink. Some local sights that speak to the long history of the village include the remains of Blakeney Guildhall, an impressive 15th-century structure that once belonged to a prosperous merchant, and the even older St. Nicholas Church, a two-towered, Grade-I listed church that sings with history. A little further afield, history buffs should check out Blickling Hall, the birthplace of Anne Boleyn.
