Location and what's nearby

Coldra Woods, The Usk Valley, Newport, Gwent, Wales NP18 1HQ

Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales, is set in 2,000 acres of parkland in the lush Usk Valley. With its two hotels, country inn and two golf clubs, it's an idyllic little world of its own, but if you do want to explore the local area, there's plenty to see and do.

The nearby Wye Valley and Newport Wetlands Reserve are great places to spot British wildlife and provide lovely spots for a picnic. If you fancy a more bracing walk, the Brecon Beacons are just an hour's drive away, while history buffs shouldn't miss Tintern Abbey (of Wordsworth fame) and the Roman ruins in Caerleon, both nearby and well worth a visit.
